US Celtic Soldiers

US Celtic Soldiers
US Celtic Soldiers is a Celtic Cross and Chain "Gift Program" whereas the My Celtic Treasures family sends, at no charge, Celtic Crosses and Chains to US Celtic Soldiers we hear about through friends and customers.

We began this program in November '07 and to date we have sent out over 70 Celtic Crosses and Chains to US Celtic Soldiers serving all over the world.

This is a small way we say THANK YOU to our soldiers for putting up such a sacrifice to help protect our great country.

The picture to the right is of my friend, Pam Moritz, presenting one of our Celtic Crosses to Terry, a US Celtic Soldier, at the Brooke Army Medical Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Pam is a volunteer with Operation Military Embrace...

If you know a soldier you would like us to send a Celtic Cross and Chain to, email their name, address and short bio. and we'll do what we do... thanks! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

March 21, 2011 ... Update from my friend Pam in regard to Crosses to soldiers at Brooks Army Medical Hospital... "Hey just finished a trip to San Antonio with wounded military. I had three crosses left from you. As you know I can't give you their names but all three men were wounded in Afghanistan. One was severely wounded. His complete back side was gone. Internal injuries were astonishing. Bless his heart. He really loved his cross. Thank you Chris you gave those men a real treasure."

Thank you Pam!

March 21, 2011 ... Celtic Cross and chain to Bryce... Chris, My young Marine son, Bryce has served in the military for 2 years now, and just left for his first deployment. His role of a combat engineer is a difficult occupation for this mother to swallow, however we support our kids unconditionally! So with faith and prayer, I hope he remains safe and comes home soon.

Our strong Celtic bloodlines begin on my Donohoe side. We are proud of our heritage and hope to visit our homeland in the next couple of years to dive into its culture and gain some knowledge about our family history.

I know in my heart that this celtic heart pendant would bring him great comfort. This is a wonderful thing you do, thank you for your love you are sharing with our military servicemen and woman--and their families.

Best regards, Christina

March 21, 2011 ... Celtic Cross and chain sent to...

Dear Chris I wanted to tell you a little about my soldier. He is a young man that has journeyed down many roads in his short 21 years. Any road he traveled that was frought with failure never pulled him down. He is strong and has always found his way. He joined the Army with a conviction I have come to recognize as his special strength. He has volunteered in a time of war and has opted to do his part for the family he loves. He is very family oriented and connected to his Irish/Scottish roots - Malcolm and McPherson.

He has asked for celtic flags to display. He is currently on a 400 day tour in Afghanistan and is part of the Valiant Warriors. He plans to continue in the military and advance in rank.

I miss him tremendously but know that somehow I have had the honor of raising such a special young man.

I am new to the military life style and learning how to keep him connected to home. I would greatley appreciate it if you could send him a celtic cross.

Thank you Janet

January 27, 2011 ... Celtic Cross and chain sent to somewhere in Iraq...

My husband, SSG Brian XXXX of the United States Army Reserves, is stationed in XXXX, Iraq for his 400 day deployment. We were married just prior to his leaving. We have two children. Our son, Liam Patrick, was born just seven weeks prior to him leaving for Iraq and is now four months old. Our daughter, Natasha, will turn two in June this year. He also has a twelve year old daughter, Lauren Michelle, that he left behind to serve his country in its time of need. We miss Daddy every day and the younger children don't understand why he isn't here with us right now. This deployment has already been challenging for us and we are learning how to live each day counting down not the days that we have been apart, but the days until we will see each other again. Although he is saddened to miss out on all of the firsts of our son and miss out on the day to day life with our family, Brian is filled with pride to be able to serve his country. Brian is the most patriotic man I have ever met. He would do anything to be able to save a life and make this world a better place for his children. He is stationed at a combat support hospital where he is able to take care of people in need and teach those around him the skills of the trade. Brian is originally from South Boston and cherishes his Irish heritage. His home is filled with Irish claddagh, Irish blessings and Celtic crosses. I know that Brian would be not only honored, but also excited, to receive a Celtic Cross and Chain from your program to remind him how much his service is appreciated.

Thank you, Amanda

January 26, 2011 ... Celtic Cross/Chain out to Capt. Patrick XXX in Andar ...

I found your website this morning after hanging the "Slainte" ceramic that one of my sons gave me for Christmas. I read your many "Celtic crosses for soldiers" stories and I have an addition if you would consider him. My #5 son, Patrick, has just deployed to Afghanistan after two tours in Iraq, where he earned the bronze star for valor. He missed yet another Christmas, but this is the life he has chosen and does not complain. I have sent him a number of Catholic medals, knowing full well that they alone cannot keep him from harms way, but more to remind him of how much his family awaits his safe return. He has an impressive Celtic cross tatoo with the words: SEAS ON FOD" (sp?) meaning "stand your ground" to the closest interpretation. I intended to send you a pic, but alas, it seems to have gone missing... I would be happy to pay the cost if you would consider sending him a cross to let him know that we thank him for the sacrifices he and all military members make so that we can raise our children in a free America. Thank you for your wonderful idea to honor these young men and women!

Again, My heartfelt thanks and God Bless! Marie

My husband is an Airman first class in the Air force. He is currently stationed in XXXX. We have to young boys. Our oldest is two and youngest is one. My husband went to basic training and was away from home for our youngest first words. He was injured then went to his next station where we were able to move with him. Recently his injury got worse and now he has to have surgery. I would love it if he was able to receive a celtic cross so he knows he is in peoples thoughts and prayers while he is faced with this trying time. He is 23 years old.

Thank you, Katelyn

October 5, 2010 ... Celtic Cross/Chain out to SPC Sean, somewhere at an AFB...

From Kyri, his wife: My husband is currently stationed at xxxxx AFB in Texas. We have 20 month old twin daughters, and a five month old son. Two months ago, my husband was sent away to Texas for training. He will be in Texas for six months, California for four, then he will deploy for a year. With the few breaks that he will have, we will see each other a total of a month and a half over the next two years. We haven't even been married for two years until November.

I know that it kills him to know that he is going to miss all three of our children's young childhood, but he is often telling me that God is putting us through this for a reason. He loves Celtic things, as he is very into his Irish heritage. The first ring he ever gave me when he proposed was a Claddaugh. The next time we see each other before he deploys, we are getting a matching Celtic love knot tattoo. I hope that you will help me honor him in a small way by sending him a cross. He is more of a husband, father, and soldier than I ever could have hoped for. Thank you so very much. - Kyri

September 30, 2010 ... Celtic Crosses and Chains sent to 2 US Celtic Soldier brothers.

From Linda O'xxxx... I have 2 sons. Joshua served for 6 years in the National Guard and was in Iraq for a year. While in Iraq the 18 wheeler that he was driving was hit by an IED. Fortunately his wounds were minor. He still stuggles with anger and the need for adrenal rushes!

My other son John is in the Air Force and has volunteered to go to Afgahistan in April next year. Both are very proud of their Irish Heritage. Their parental grandfather was 1st generation American.

I know that Josh would appreciate knowing that his time in Iraq was important to this country.

I would love for John to receive one before he leaves for Afganistan.

Thank you for your time and your thoughtfulness to our servicemen and women. Lynda O'xxxx Proud mother of Two Servicemen!!

August 15, 2010 ... Cross and Chain sent Spc Brandon X, who is stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso Texas. He is currently back at post unable to deploy back to Iraq due to injury. He is also having problems with PTSD. Fortunately our culture values life and liberty so much that unfortunately PTSD is very rampant among our soldiers. Brandon is into all things celtic. He even had a medieval celtic wedding he is very proud of his celtic heritage I know he would be so proud to wear a celtic cross pendant. Thank you for this expression of gratitude to our men and women in uniform.

Sincerely,, Crala X Maj USAFACAP

August 15, 2010 ... Celtic Cross and Chain sent to Liam X. Liam has recently enlisted in the Navy. He is about to finish his A school in Pensacola and will soon be home on leave before entering C school in Oceana, VA. He has some Irish ancesters on his father's side and possibly some Scott on my side of the family. He has been interested in all things celtic for many years now, he is even tryng to teach himself Gaelic! I am sure he would be honored to be a recipient of your Celtic Cross and chain. Since he will be arriving home soon, this would be the best address to send it too. If it arrives after he has gone on to Oceana, I would be happy to send it on to him.

Thank you for your efforts for our soldiers.

May 5, 2010 ... Celtic Cross/Chain going out to Rachel.

Sent to me by Rachel's father... Our daughter is serving in the US Army her name is Spc Rachel. She has been deployed twice to Iraq, on the second deployment she had to fly back to the states because her older brother was KAB ,killed after back. He was a sniper on his second deployment to Iraq with the US Army. He recieved the Armcom with a V Device, for saving his Sgt's life. He was killed on a motorcycle in Norfolk, Va on July 31, 2009, the next day was his National Guard weekend. I believe that you have heard about soldiers and PTSD, the need for speed and adrenaline, That's what got him, no help from the people around him since Navy people in Norfolk had no idea of his PTSD and had never been in Combat! He even had a big Celtic Cross tattoo'd on his forearm, he was so proud of his tattoo. Stopping in Ireland for both during their flights returning from Iraq to fuel thier planes, most likely fueled their desire, making them more proud of their Heritage. Feel free to Google Sgt Christopher Dwayne Harris, the guy that took the pics spelled his name, Christofer, why I don't know. He really enjoyed the Celtic dancers at different venues he was at. Luckily, our daughter was in Iraq when the Fort Hood shootings occured as the shootings occured directly across from her units office. She also is suffering from PTSD.

Our daughter and son have Irish bloodlines on both sides of her mother and father. We are trying to incorperate his Celtic Cross tattoo onto his headstone, thats when we found a similar one on your website. Thx for your program honoring Celtic soldiers, it's really quite of a nice program to honor our soldiers! I don't know if you could find it in your heart to send this to our daughter, as WE are still grieving about our son's loss.

From US Celtic Soldiers: Sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you today and every day. We thank you, your son and your daughter for everything you've done and continue to do. You guys are the best!
